IMO Leadership Program
Indigenous Leadership Program for Indigenous Music Industry Professionals
The IMO Leadership Program is a five-day residency in Toronto for Indigenous people working in the music industry. Through workshops, mentorship, and networking opportunities, participants connect with record labels, digital service providers, funding organizations, and other industry professionals while building skills and relationships that support long-term careers in music.
Participants receive $500 honorarium, flight and hotel accommodations in Toronto for the duration of the program, networking and professional development opportunities.
The program is open to Indigenous people working on the business side of the music industry, along with self-managed artists, and is supported by the Canada Council for the Arts and Ontario Creates.
Applicant Criteria
To be eligible to participate, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a First Nation, Inuit, or Métis person who lives and works in Canada
- Be 18 years or older
- Be available for the duration of the program, October 6-10, 2025
- Have recent professional career activity (e.g. an active management client, a recent music release from your record label, a recent music release of your own, etc… )
- Have a website or a profile on the Indigenous Music Office website
